In Germany as elsewhere there is much discussion on the issue of “women in TopManagement”. The new coalition in Germany puts this goal in writing – eventhough the phrasing still remains vague. More and more studies conclude that a higherpercentage of women in top management positions generates considerablestrategic value for companies.

Additional impulse is coming from abroad: many countries are no longer discussing thequestion “if” but rather “how” the number of women in top management can beoptimized. Following Norway’s lead the Netherlands has set a legal quota on the minimum percentage of female employees per workforce.

"Capital” the German economic magazine reports on this topic in its January 2010 edition and quotes Dr. Rolf Dahlems, partner at Signium International “There is already healthy competition between Executive recruiters”. In October 2009 Rolf Dahlems initiated the project “100 female board placements”. In the meantime he has about 150 female managers in his database which he could easily place in board of directors or similar advisory board positions – he aims for 200 in total. We aim to make our mark."
